Vintage Aviator Egg Chair; in Distressed Leather with Aluminium Riveted Shell.

An aviator egg chair based upon the original by the Dane; Arne Jacobsen; designed in the late 1950's.
This particular example is a little later; made with a hand riveted and sculptured aluminium shell; resembling the engine cover of a jet plane,
The upholstery continues the theme, being a distressed brown leather, mirroring the finish and aesthetic of a vintage leather flying jacket. 
A glorious match up!
 Complete with matching cushion; all mounted upon a chrome pedestal.
The photos don't do it justice; that's my fault; the upholstery is clean and undamaged; no rips or tears; despite looking the polar opposite in the pics.
Just beautifully distressed.
A real one off piece of iconic furniture for the aviation enthusiast.
Approx. max. dims.  H: 1100mm, W: 830mm, D: 800mm; SH: 400mm.
In excellent vintage condition. No rips or tears to the upholstery, a few very minor bumps and scrapes to the hand beaten aluminium shell; but nothing that detracts from the beauty of this piece.
This is an original antique and may well show signs of use and wear commensurate with age.
