Beautiful Trio of Vallauris Mid Century Modern French Majolica Candleholders.

£179.00Price

A very rare and beautiful trio of Vallauris mid-century modern majolica candleholders or candlesticks; attributed to the Designer Jerome Massier (1850-1916).

Vallauris is a seaside commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France.

A listed “Town of Artisans” thanks to its internationally-renowned ceramics tradition, Vallauris overflows with creativity and attracts crowds of talented artists.

The Massier family had enormous influences on the work of Vallauris Art Community and Vallauris is also known for being home to Pablo Picasso from 1948-1955.

This is a fabulous little trio, sourced personally in the Bretagne region of France.

They have a pronounced “Art Nouveau” influence on a green iridescent metallic luster.

Truely beautiful pieces.

Approx. max. dims: H: 85mm, W: 100mm, D: 100mm

In good vintage condition with no chips, perhaps some fading to the majolica and drips of wax to the surface; totally original.

These are original antiques and may well show signs of use and wear commensurate with age.
