Antique French Porcelain Corpus Christi; Circa 1800's.
Quite a find.
Corpus Christi or 'Body of Christ' statue.
French from around the early to mid 1800's.
White porcelain with a crazed glaze, finished with a deep gold gilt loincloth.
Both arms are missing; typical of authentic antique pieces of this stature.
Hand sourced from the Pays de la Loire region of France.
A truly unique piece.
Approx. max dims: H: 370mm
In excellent antique; as found condition. Arms are missing as shown, crazing to the porcelain and slight wear to the gilding on the loincloth, but everything mentioned adds to the aesthetic and authenticity of this magical antique.
This is an original antique and may well show signs of use and wear commensurate with age.
