Antique French Oil on Canvas Landscape of a Shepherd with her Flock. 1800's.

OK; so this is a bit special.
A framed oil on canvas.
Circa early to mid 1800's.
No obvious markings.
A landscape painting of a shepherd attending her flock of sheepses (sic) near a body of water.
I found this in a Brocante in France, however it does present a rather quintessentially English scene; typical of the period.
The painting displays wonderful artistry and charm with a colour palette typical of British landscapes.
Mounted within a carved gold gilt frame.
Interestingly a wooden board had been added as some kind of 'support'. Adds to the intrigue for sure and removes easily enough as shown.
A really soulful piece of authentic antique art.

In excellent antique condition. Some crazing to the varnish but the oil is in good condition as is the canvas. Colours are vibrant. Perhaps the odd mark to the frame but nothing that detracts from the splendour of this wonderful piece of art. There is something about this that has to be seen to be appreciated.
This is an original antique and may well show signs of use and wear commensurate with age.
