Antique French Glazed Terracotta Walnut Oil Jug. Late 1800's.
Charming little jug this.
A terracotta walnut oil jug.
French from around the late 1800's
Hand thrown, these jugs were predominantly used for storing and transporting walnut oil.
This has the most magical patina with remnants of another jug baked on the side; obviously too close in the kiln!
A real one off!
Personally sourced in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France.
Approx. max. dims: H;310mm, Dia: 290mm
In excellent antique; as found condition. A few very minor marks to the surface perhaps; as one might expect; but no signs of damage or repair.
A really decorative piece.
This is an original antique and may well show signs of use and wear commensurate with age.
