Antique French Dark Gold Gilt Mirror. 1800's.
Everything about this fabulous mirror is right in my opinion.
French; early to mid 1800's.
Wood frame, gesso detailing; finished in a deep rich gold gilt; with slivered original mercury mirror plate and untouched backboards.
Perfectly sized and proportioned.
Personally sourced from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France.
This would have hung somewhere quite splendid.
Approx. max. dims: H: 840mm, W: 660mm, D: 40mm
In excellent antique, as found condition. Sturdy frame, historical looses to the gesso and gilt as shown; perfect amount of silvering to the mirror plate.
Simply stunning!
This is an original antique and may well show signs of use and wear commensurate with age.
