Antique French Apothecary Bottle labelled 'LIQUEUR DE VILLATE'. Circa 1900.

Antique French Apothecary Bottle labelled 'LIQUEUR DE VILLATE'. Circa 1900.

£104.00Price

Lovely old apothecary bottle.

French, circa early 1900's.

Stunning handblown glass bottle with charming gold, black and red labelling.

The label reads: 'Liqueur de Villate', which is traditionally a veterinary treatment for horses hooves; addressing issues such as 'rotten frogs; part of a horses hoof.

Handwritten labels to both the rear and underside of the bottle.

Handsome decorative piece as it stands but a great vase as shown.

Approx. max. dims: H: 240mm , Dia: 105mm

In excellent antique condition. No chips or cracks. Label is bright and vibrant, slight signs of wear to the edges, but nothing that detracts from the beauty of this piece.  No stopper. The bottle is as found, I haven't cleaned it at all, but if that's your persuasion, I'm sure it'll come up swimmingly.

This is an original antique and may well show signs of use and wear commensurate with age.
